3 August 2009--Hey Familia, como Estan!

Everything is just going awesome here in Huaycan. We were lucky enough to have another fast, and I was loving it. My companion has been a little sick so he wasn’t able to fast, but we were still really blessed. We have the hna Yovanna that is going to be baptized next week, and she is awesome. She really has repented, and she accepts every commandment we teach. She really understands the importance of this ordinance, and she is really excited for next week. One of our best investigators, Julia Mendez, is a mom of 3 who is about 38 years old. She has all of the lessons, but has had problems coming to church. She wants to be baptized and everything, and is excited. We just need her to get all of her asistences in. The Lord really blessed us to have her finally make it, and she really had a good experience. She is going to be baptized later this month. Elder PiƱin and I have put a goal of 5 baptisms this week, and we have a ton of investigators that are progressing really well, and we are going to reach this goal. Goals are so important in the mission, and in life in general. When we put a baptismal date, we set a goal that we work to reach, and it really helps people prepare for baptism. So the work is really going forward well here in Huaycan.
So my companion has been a little sick for the past week, so we haven’t been able to get much running in, but the good thing is it isn’t really affecting our work. Some days he has to sleep through study time, but then he is ready to work for the afternoon. He is getting better though, so we should be in full stride soon, and running again! My pensionista really likes to cook with onions, and I swear every plate is loaded with them, but dad I’m actually starting to like them. I’m looking forward to when I get home, and eating your spaghetti sauce loaded with onions  We are in winter right now so it gets a little cold off and on, but not near as bad as La Oroya, and not even close to as bad as out house. I usually get by with just a sweater, and I’m just fine.
Well love getting everyones letters, and it really sounds like things are going interesting at home. Hope everything turns out ok with the busted gas line, and everything. Sounds like that was a pretty fun experience. Tell everyone Hi for me, and I miss you all a ton.

Love Elder Lee

The Pictures are of Luis Pastor and his familia. One of my favorite families in the world. Then the familia Guttierez that we baptized in Pichanaki, and my companion eating sea food. Holy cow I pound the sea food too, crazy what the mission does to you huh.
